Improving Energy Bills For All
About our brand
Clean Energy technology is becoming increasingly prevalent. It’s penetration is causing a transition towards a new equilibrium in energy dynamics. As the engineering design change, the operational standards and economic models must align.
Lets build a community that supports an energy dynamics transition that is beneficial for all.
The impact is a win-win-win-win scenario:
Win1: Reduced individual costs for those that participate
Win2: Reduced system operation and maintenance costs overall
Win3: Integrate more low cost renewables energy resources
Win4: Transition away from a fossil fuel centered system
Games are the best ways to learn. Providing public access to information will increase participation the energy dynamic for all.
Bills Have Three Components
Delivery Cost: The rate to deliver an electron from energy resource (AKA Generator) to meter. This rate is calculated on the peak moment of consumption on the worse day of the year. Flattening the peak profile using storage reduces the rate to a lower delivery cost.
Supply Cost: The cost is dependent upon the energy resource bids into a marketplace. This cost is calculated through the energy marketplace settlement mechanism. More renewable and storage component penetration lowers cost from energy resource bids.
Tax Cost: The percentage of Delivery and Supply cost multiplied by a set tax amount. Lowering the other two lowers the tax cost.
Total Bill Cost = Delivery Cost + Supply Cost + Tax Cost
Learning Through Games
People learn best through hands-on games.
Help us develop a web-based game that demonstrates the nuances of the energy marketplace. Players act as energy resource managers competing to maximize their profit by deciding optimal bid strategies in a mock energy dynamic.
Access to this knowledge enables Producer-Consumers (“Prosumers”) to participate in the dynamic. “Prosumers” are able to consume or generate electricity for profit by participating as Virtual Power Plants tied top the energy grid as Distribution Energy Resources.
Let’s teach the world a new energy dynamic that is beneficial for all. Playing the game helps us envision, plan and promulgate a new dynamic that is beneficial for all.
Game Basics
A simulated mock energy market operational dynamic for a set of energy resource types.
Players select an energy source type and compete to make the most profits in the simulation.
Social Impact
Educate all people on the dynamics that influence the supply cost of their bill
Gameplay
Players bid into the market at a price and capacity for their selected energy resource, and the market settles on a price for the hour. Their selection and the settled price impacts their profits.
Energy Resources
Nuclear, Natural Gas, Solar, Wind, Hydroelectric, Energy Storage Systems, and Aggregated Distributed Energy Resources. Each has unique operational and economic constraints.
Strategy Learned
Players learn importance of marketplace, strategy used by the energy resources, and the constraints driving the dynamic.
Forecasting v. Actual Demand
Players are provided a forecast of the demand on the system that the energy resources are collectively expected to satisfy. Focused on four key hours of 24 hour day real-time marketplace dynamic. The marketplace repeats over a three day period.
